If you enable dataset licensing, you grant Evals a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to prepare, reproduce, adapt, distribute and license eligible contributions made after that choice for evaluation and research, including paid licensing to AI labs and research organizations. Eligible contributions can include your prompts, submitted files, outputs to the extent you have rights in them, comparisons, preferences, annotations and associated evaluation records.
You retain your rights. Evals may receive licensing revenue. Ordinary contributions do not earn royalties or payment unless a separate written paid-work agreement says otherwise. Account email, payment details and connected-account credentials are excluded. Your permission cannot override a provider license, another person's rights or applicable privacy law.
If you also enable model training, the optional license extends to using eligible contributions to train or improve AI models, including models developed by Evals and permitted lab recipients. Leaving this choice off limits the optional dataset license to evaluation and research, without training. You can participate, run tasks and vote with both choices off.
Choices cover eligible contributions made after your permission is recorded, with evidence of the permission in effect when they were collected. They do not retroactively grant rights to earlier work. Identifiable information, third-party material and provider-restricted outputs require independent clearance. Where required, we obtain named-recipient and overseas-transfer permission or rely on another valid legal basis before sharing.
A lab receives only the rights and uses that are permitted for a particular delivery, subject to content rights, provider licenses, your recorded choices and applicable privacy requirements. Your checkbox does not authorize unrestricted resale, reidentification of contributors, disclosure of excluded account details or use outside the permitted purpose. Additional recipient or project terms may be presented before a specific transfer.
Withdraw either option in Settings. Turning off dataset licensing also turns off model training. We record withdrawals and stop new use and delivery under the withdrawn permission. Re-enabling a choice covers new contributions; it does not revive permission for older contributions affected by a withdrawal.
Withdrawal does not undo processing lawfully completed before it and cannot guarantee recovery of independently held public copies or reversal of completed model training. Any continued retention or use of a previously delivered copy remains subject to applicable deletion and withdrawal duties and the recipient’s agreement; delivery does not override those duties. Contact us about a specific contribution, delivery or deletion request.
An expert invitation preference permits Evals to email you about potential evaluation, research and expert opportunities. It does not share your identity with hiring companies, enroll you in a project or promise work or payment. Before paid work begins, a separate agreement must establish compensation, work scope, intellectual-property rights, confidentiality, privacy and any recipient-specific permissions.
